Anne O’Connell brought in a 2-month-old black Lab from a pet shelter 14 years ago. He’d been left in a shopping cart. Anne was serious about not getting a puppy, but she couldn’t help herself and brought Cherry home.
Anne and her fiancé Jamie both work in the veterinary field. They married in September and really wanted Cherry, who was 14 at the time, to be there. The dog was diagnosed with a condition this year and was in a bad shape.
His condition got worse in the week leading up to the wedding, and Anne planned to say goodbye to him. Cherry, on the other hand, did not have a single incident at the wedding. He didn’t look like himself.
He escorted the proprietor to the altar! However, he was unable to return. Sister Anne took him in her arms and carried him. Everyone was emotional because it was such a moving event.
Cherry was not with them about a week later. To avoid waking up, he fell asleep calmly in front of the stove at home, surrounded by a loving family. ‘It’s been a fantastic 14 years.’ ‘It’s certain,’ Anne says.
