Today, I want to share the story of how my small, dark kitchen turned into something beyond my wildest dreams. With a limited budget and few opportunities for major changes, the space got a few modest upgrades but a completely new vibe.
As you can see, the upper cabinets were hung at an odd angle, and I decided not to incorporate them into my updated design.
There was a minor issue: the top row of tiles was incomplete. However, that wasn’t a problem, since the tiles were hidden behind the fridge and out of sight.
I had this crazy idea to carefully remove and move the tiles behind the fridge, and my patient dad gave his approval.
We ended up removing more tiles than necessary, and while soaking them to remove the leftover glue, I accidentally damaged one tile.
For the record, we first used a standard filler to level the walls, then added a finishing coat. Later, I simply painted the walls white.
It’s important to note that these small details don’t bother me at all. The slightly uneven walls don’t faze me. To me, what really matters is that the house has character. That’s the true beauty of any space!
