In order to provide the cats with a little extra room, she really ‘moved out’ of one of her bedrooms.
Meet Lea, a self-described ‘cat lady’ with a great heart for our cuddly feline companions.
She spent the most of her life working for animal rights and rescuing as many animals as she could, but she was also aware that countless animals still had to live on the streets.
She made the decision to accept a large group of stray cats into her expansive 4,300 square foot home because of this.
In actuality, she is currently home to over a thousand cats! There are cats all over the place.
Lea’s property is enormous, which is a good thing because she actually ‘moved out’ of one of her rooms to give the kitties a bit more room.
Lea loves to stay in the small trailer in her yard even though the house has five bedrooms.
She is therefore surrounded by cats and lives near nature. Lea established California’s biggest free cat sanctuary about 30 years ago.
Numerous cats’ lives have undoubtedly been improved throughout the years by the refuge.
