One ordinary day, Neville Linton, 63, went shopping as usual. However, he found a terrifying surprise hidden in his broccoli. A few days later, while cooking, he opened the bag and discovered a snake among the vegetables.
Linton, who works in industrial cleaning, was terrified—he has a deep fear of snakes.
Thankfully, his family helped him capture the reptile. His sister, Ann-Marie, identified it as a snake, and they secured it in a plastic container before returning it to the store.
A zoo specialist later identified the creature as a ladder snake, common in parts of Europe. Although not venomous, the shock of finding a snake in his food left Linton shaken.
He believes more should be done to prevent such incidents in the future.
