A fascinating pale-skinned turtle that hatched on an island in Queensland has been witnessed by local skilled professionals. The newborn sea turtle was seen swimming into the water. Usually these turtles have a dull, light green skin with a pale covering.
The unusual turtle on this island has pinkish-white skin and a fiery orange shell.
Albinism is a hereditary disorder that causes white skin, hair, and eyes in one out of every 100,000 turtles.
They posted on Instagram, ‘Current endurance evaluations for the turtles reaching adulthood are about one in every 1,000.’
‘Unfortunately, the turtle’s success rate is also diminished due to his poor visual awareness and inability to cover.
The turtle’s vision is affected by the capacity of melanin in the development of the optic nerve.
‘These turtles have a hard time leaving their hiding places, and if they do, they’re not well adapted to the temperature,’ he explained.
‘We can easily see the creature, therefore I’m sure other creatures would benefit in the same way. What an amazing miracle of nature. Nature never stops to amaze us with its wonders.
