Last month, while sorting volumes in a tiny town in the United Kingdom, a public library librarian discovered someone napping in a peaceful area of the historical nonfiction section.
It’s not uncommon to see someone snoozing with a nice book, but she was taken aback when she discovered a small brown bat fast sleeping.
She didn’t want to wake him up, so she went to phone a coworker to check her assumptions about the animal’s identify.
A police officer came 10 minutes later when the library worker called the local animals rights agency.
The library staff was able to take a few images of the animal embracing books, and the police officer graciously agreed to wait.
It’s still a mystery how the bat got into the Ilbrary to nap.
Bats are also welcomed guests in some Iibraries in PortugaI, where they eat bugs that would otherwlse munch on old books.
The PubIic Library, on the other hand, did not require bats’ services and was the animal taken into the wild at the nearby WiIdlife Refuge.
Now this is what i call an amazing event.
