When a loved one passes, not only people but also animals experience emotions.
This occurred at the start of 2018. The owner of Inia passed. Inia spent her entire 13-year life with him, and they had a close bond.
When the man was in bad shape , his family called a hospital, but it was too late by the time the paramedics arrived.
They attempted, but failed, to restore the man. Inia walked over to the man and sat beside him, her head tucked under his arm, as they moved away from him.
She mostly sat near the window or entrance, as she did every time the owner went to work. She had not given up hope that he would return.
The widow carried her dog to the farewell ceremony on the day of her departure, believing that she could not do otherwise.
Inia appears to have grasped the situation completely. She stood on her hind legs in front of the owner’s head.
When she returned home with her family after the ceremony, she ate a full supper with a decent appetite for the first time in ten days.
