“Don’t Call Me Anymore, I’m Busy!” I Yelled – And My Mom Never Called Again… 😢📞
I’m 39 years old, with two kids, a full-time job, and barely any time to breathe. 😩
Every single day is a whirlwind of deadlines, school runs, laundry, dinner, and exhaustion. My phone buzzes non-stop, and honestly, I just want silence.
Lately, my mom had started calling more often. She’s retired, alone, and loves to chat… a little too much. ☎️ Every time I’d sit down to rest, her name would pop up on my screen. And every time, I’d sigh. Another call. Another story I didn’t have time for. 😔
One day, after a brutal day at work and a chaotic evening with the kids, my phone rang again. It was her. For the fourth time that week. I was at my limit. I snapped.
«Don’t call me anymore, I’m busy!» I shouted into the phone. «I have work, kids, a house to run! I don’t have time for these endless calls!» 📱💥

I hung up without saying goodbye. For a moment, I felt relieved. But the next day… silence. And the day after that. And the next. No calls. No texts. Just silence. 😶
By the third day, guilt crept in. What if she was hurt? What if something had happened? I couldn’t wait anymore. I drove to her place, heart pounding. 🚗💨
Her lights were off. Her curtains drawn. I knocked. No answer. A knot formed in my stomach. I used the spare key she’d given me years ago. 🗝️
Inside, the air was still. Too still.

“Mom?” I called softly.
Nothing.
I walked to her bedroom—and froze. She was lying there, peaceful… too peaceful. My heart stopped. Her face was serene, almost smiling. But I knew. I knew she was gone. 💔
I collapsed to my knees, tears spilling down my face. On her nightstand, I saw a small box. I opened it with shaking hands… a brand-new phone. A note beside it read:
«Thought you might need a better one for your busy days. Love you always.» 💝📦

I screamed silently inside. Why hadn’t I just taken her call? Why had I let stress and pride push her away? She didn’t want to annoy me… she just wanted to be there. And now… I could never call her back. 📵😭
If only I’d answered.
If only I’d listened.
If only I’d had one more moment. 🕰️💔
