Lisa was pregnant when she arrived at the shelter.
Her rescuers had predicted that she would give birth to six puppies and had quickly placed her in a loving home, confident that the happy day would arrive.
Lisa finally gave birth in early March, to a much larger litter of puppies than anyone had anticipated. Lisa gave birth to two times the number of puppies that had been planned for everyone.
Fortunately, Lisa was fully prepared and swiftly transitioned into mother mode, allowing her to fully focus on her massive new family.
Because there are so many puppies, Lisa’s rescuers have had to assist her by caring for them.
It’s a challenging assignment that no one anticipated, but the young dogs are generally behaving themselves and developing as they should, which is the only thing that matters.
Everyone was taken aback when Lisa gave birth to so many cute and sweet puppies.
They’re all settling in nicely, and the staff can’t wait to show each of the 12 puppies and their mother the greatest permanent places to live once they’re ready.
