“Please, take the cast off, it hurts so much,” the six-year-old girl cried to the doctor. The adults reassured her that everything was normal, until the child suddenly fainted in the middle of the examination.

Anna never imagined that a simple broken arm could turn into the most terrifying week of her life. 😟

Her six-year-old daughter, Emma, had fallen from the playground ladder while trying to reach the monkey bars. At first, it seemed like a normal childhood accident. The doctors at the hospital examined her arm carefully, took an X-ray, and confirmed that it was fractured. 🏥

“It’s nothing serious,” the doctor reassured Anna with a calm smile. “She’ll need a cast for about a month, and then she’ll be completely fine.” 😊

Emma sat quietly while the bright pink cast was wrapped around her small arm. At first, she even smiled about it.

“Look, Mommy! It’s pink like my backpack!” 🎀

Anna kissed her forehead and laughed softly. Everything seemed under control.

But three days later, things began to change. 😰

“Mom… my arm hurts,” Emma whispered one evening while sitting on the couch.

Anna looked at her gently.

“That’s normal, sweetheart. Your bone is healing.”

Emma nodded, but her eyes filled with tears.

“No, Mommy… it really hurts.” 😢

Anna gave her the pain medicine prescribed by the doctor and tucked her into bed. She believed the discomfort was simply part of recovery. After all, children often complained when wearing casts.

The next morning, Emma refused to eat breakfast. She sat silently at the kitchen table, holding her arm close to her chest.

“Please take it off,” she begged quietly. “It feels like something is cutting my hand.” 😣

Anna felt a strange wave of worry pass through her, but she tried to stay calm.

“The doctor said the cast must stay on so your arm can heal properly.”

“But it burns inside,” Emma whispered.

As the days passed, Emma became weaker. She stopped playing with her toys. She barely smiled anymore. Every night she cried from pain, and every morning she begged for help.

“Mommy, please… take it off…” 😭

Anna called the clinic several times, but each answer sounded the same.

“Children often exaggerate discomfort with casts. If her fingers aren’t blue and she can move them, it should be fine.”

Still, something didn’t feel right.

One night, Anna woke up after hearing soft sobbing from Emma’s bedroom. She rushed inside and found her daughter sitting awake in bed, pale and trembling.

“It hurts so much,” Emma cried. “Please believe me.” 💔

Anna hugged her tightly. For the first time, fear truly settled into her heart.

The next morning, she took Emma back to the hospital.

The waiting room smelled of disinfectant and medicine. Emma sat silently beside her mother, her face unusually pale. When the doctor finally entered the room, he smiled politely.

“Well, young lady, how are we feeling today?” 👨‍⚕️

Emma immediately burst into tears.

“Please remove it,” she begged desperately. “I don’t want the cast anymore.”

The doctor sighed gently.

“That means your arm is healing. Sometimes children become sensitive during recovery.”

“No!” Emma cried louder. “Something is wrong!” 😭

Anna looked nervously between her daughter and the doctor.

“She’s been complaining constantly,” Anna explained. “She barely sleeps.”

The doctor examined Emma’s fingers.

“They look normal. Good circulation. No swelling outside the cast.”

Emma suddenly became dizzy. Her tiny body swayed.

“Emma?” Anna whispered in panic.

Before anyone could react, the little girl collapsed onto the floor unconscious. 😨

“Call for assistance!” the doctor shouted immediately.

Nurses rushed into the room. Anna’s hands trembled uncontrollably as they lifted Emma onto the examination bed.

“What’s happening to my daughter?!” 😭

The doctor’s expression changed completely. The calm confidence disappeared from his face.

“Remove the cast now,” he ordered.

The room fell silent except for the sound of medical scissors cutting through the hard plaster. Piece by piece, the pink cast began to break apart.

Anna held her breath.

Then everyone froze. 😳

Underneath the cast, Emma’s small hand was badly injured. Deep pressure sores had formed along her skin, and part of the padding inside the cast had folded tightly against her wrist, pressing painfully into the flesh for days. Her skin was inflamed and bleeding slightly.

“Oh my God…” one nurse whispered quietly.

Anna covered her mouth in horror. Tears streamed down her cheeks instantly. 💔

All this time, Emma had been telling the truth.

The doctor looked shaken.

“She was in severe pain,” he admitted softly. “The cast was too tight.”

Emma slowly opened her eyes, weak but conscious again.

“Mommy…” she whispered.

Anna immediately held her daughter close, crying harder than ever before.

“I’m so sorry,” she whispered through tears. “I should have listened sooner.” 😢

Emma rested her head against her mother’s shoulder while the nurses carefully treated her injured hand.

That evening, Anna sat beside Emma’s hospital bed watching her sleep peacefully for the first time in days. The pain was finally gone. 🌙

As she gently stroked her daughter’s hair, one painful thought kept repeating in her mind:

Sometimes children understand their pain better than adults do.

And sometimes, the smallest voice in the room is the one people need to hear the most. ❤️
