A tigress birthed her beautiful cubs at one of the zoos, but she refused them right after they were born. Without care from their mother the cubs would have to be given to another animal, and even then, their chances of living would be slim to none.
Note that wild cats, especially those kept privately, frequently refuse their cubs and may even do something bad to them.
The zoo personnel then issued a statement regarding the search for a recently born and breastfeeding dog as well as a large cat.
And, to their delight, they discovered Lizzy, a wonderful, caring and attentive golden retriever who volunteered to breastfeed wild kittens, becoming their mother.
She fed, licked, looked after, and nurtured the cubs as if they were her own. She was a natural mother who cherished her adorable adoptive children. The zookeepers had not anticipated the dog being so friendly and caring.
Lizzy’s determination was the sole reason the cubs got to live. Isn’t this an incredible story? Hopefully the little cubs will grow up to be healthy and big tigers.
