Laura is a fifth-grade teacher. She frequently shared tales about her dog’s life with all of her students.
After the dog’s health suddenly started to decline, a doctor’s examination revealed a tumor.
Laura told the kids everything when she got to work because she felt she couldn’t hide what had happened from them.
They could tell I was upset, so I had to explain everything to them.
They were aware of the puppy since I talked about him frequently and frequently showed them pictures and videos, adds Laura.
One of the children did come to the conclusion that their teacher needed help. At the end of the school day, he had sent Laura a letter with a poem for her dog.
The child adds in a note, ‘Most importantly, I know your dog is special, and your dog is in a better place and watching over you.’
Laura made the decision to read the letter at home because she needed some time to herself that day.
When she got to school, she thanked the student in front of the whole class for his assistance, calling him an illustration of how decent people need to treat one another.
