Every housewife has a favorite cookware that she can’t bear to throw away, even if it’s covered with a layer of grease. Here’s a simple and effective way to restore the clean and tidy look of your pots and pans.
What you’ll need:
- Ammonia solution
- A few plastic bags
- Tape
Instructions:
- Place the cookware into a sturdy plastic bag and pour a small amount of ammonia solution inside.
- Remove as much air as possible, tie the bag securely, and seal it with tape.
- Leave the bag on the balcony or outside for 1-2 days, depending on the level of dirt. This step is important to avoid the strong ammonia smell from spreading indoors.
- Once the time is up, take the cookware out of the bag, rinse it with cool water, and scrub with the rough side of a sponge.
Alternative method:
- Take a large container and mix vinegar with cool water.
- Submerge the cookware in the solution and leave it for 1-2 days.
- From time to time, check and scrub off the remaining dirt with a sponge.
This alternative method is gentler, so it won’t damage the cookware’s surface. The smell of vinegar will be minimal if the solution is correctly diluted, so don’t worry too much about it.
Both methods will help you clean even the oldest pots and pans. Now your cookware will look as good as new!
