I felt unwell almost every single day during my pregnancy, and for months, I convinced myself that it was simply something I had to endure. 🤰💔
At first, the symptoms seemed normal.
I was constantly tired. I felt nauseous even after eating small meals, and sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night with a strange heaviness in my stomach. 😔
Everyone kept telling me the same thing.
“It’s pregnancy. Your body is changing.”
So I tried not to complain.
My husband, Daniel, was incredibly supportive. He would bring me breakfast in bed, remind me to drink water, and tell me that everything would be worth it when we finally met our baby. ❤️👶

But instead of getting better as the months passed, I seemed to feel worse.
There was one thing I ate almost every day.
Avocado. 🥑
I had always considered it one of the healthiest foods I could eat during pregnancy. I put it on toast, added it to salads, mixed it into sandwiches, and sometimes ate it plain with a little salt.
My doctor had never told me to avoid it, so I never imagined it could possibly be connected to how I was feeling.
In fact, I became convinced that avocado was helping me stay healthy.
Then one morning, everything changed.
I woke up feeling so weak that I could barely get out of bed. My stomach felt uncomfortable, my head was spinning, and I had almost no appetite. 😢
Daniel immediately noticed something was wrong.
“You don’t look well,” he said.
“I’m fine,” I whispered.
But I wasn’t.
That afternoon, we went to the clinic for another checkup. The doctor listened carefully as I described everything I had been experiencing.
He ordered several tests.
I expected them to show something related to anemia, hormones, or perhaps another common pregnancy problem.
Instead, when the results came back, the doctor’s expression became unusually serious.
He studied the report for several seconds.
Then he looked at me.
“There is something we need to discuss,” he said.
My heart began pounding. 💔
“What is it?”
He explained that some of my symptoms could be related to a food sensitivity or intolerance. He asked me to describe everything I had been eating regularly.
I listed my meals.
Then he asked one simple question.
“How often do you eat avocado?”
I almost laughed.
“Every day,” I answered. “Sometimes twice a day.”
The doctor paused.
He explained that while avocado is nutritious and safe for many people, individual sensitivities can occur, and pregnancy can sometimes change how the body reacts to foods that were previously tolerated without problems.

He suggested removing avocado from my diet temporarily and carefully observing whether my symptoms improved.
I couldn’t believe it.
After everything I had worried about, could something I considered healthy really have been contributing to how miserable I felt? 🥑😳
I decided to try.
The next morning, there was no avocado on my plate.
I expected nothing to change.
But by the afternoon, I noticed something strange.
My stomach felt calmer.
The following day, I woke up without the usual heaviness.
A few days later, my nausea became noticeably weaker.
And after about a week, I realized something I hadn’t felt in months.
I had energy again. 🥹❤️
I walked into the kitchen one morning and started crying.
Daniel looked frightened.
“What happened?”
I smiled through my tears.
“I feel like myself again.”
He hugged me tightly.
We both stood there in silence, overwhelmed by relief. 🤗❤️
Of course, I continued following my doctor’s advice and monitoring my pregnancy carefully. I also learned an important lesson: something considered healthy for one person isn’t necessarily suitable for everyone, especially when the body is going through major changes.
My pregnancy wasn’t suddenly perfect.
There were still difficult days, exhaustion, and all the ordinary challenges that come with expecting a baby.
But the constant sickness was finally fading.
At my next appointment, my doctor was pleased with my progress.
“You look much better,” he said.
I smiled.
“I feel much better.”
As I left the clinic, I placed one hand gently over my growing belly. 👶❤️
For months, I had been afraid that something was seriously wrong.
Instead, I had discovered an unexpected trigger hiding inside one of my daily habits.
That experience taught me never to ignore what my body is telling me.

Sometimes the smallest detail can be the missing piece of a much bigger puzzle. 🥑🤰❤️
And for me, removing one everyday food made the difference between simply surviving my pregnancy and finally being able to enjoy it.
