Locals in Thailand’s Nakhon Sawan province discovered a little newborn macaque in the bush and brought him to their village to keep as a pet.
The two-month-old cub, named Jaon Khan, is a crab-eating macaque, but the locals only fed him bananas, which made him very thin and limited his development.
Furthermore, he was still too young to live without his mother’s care.
In a village house, he had no hope of going on.
Thankfully, one of the neighbors called the sanctuary, and the infant was taken from the crowd and placed in a foundation shelter.
Someone gave the monkey a soft stuffed giraffe there. And Jaon Khan clutched it right away, and she still holds it in her stubborn little fists.
For him, the toy has served as a sort of substitute for his mother.
Even while sleeping or eating, the baby will not release grip of the toy. The shelter employee, not the toy, is the one who feeds him.
‘Thankfully, he is now in good hands, and after the quarantine period is through, we plan to introduce him to other monkeys.’
