Diana is never alone. She always has a tiny companion nearby who is willing to keep her company.
She is a rescue and goes by the name Issyl. Diana founded a refuge for wombats that can’t live on their own.
About three months ago, the animal lover discovered Issyl. Many species, including them, have found it extremely difficult to thrive in recent years due to climate change.
Diana soon recognized that the little wombat required her assistance.
Issyl felt safe at the refuge and quickly got connected to Diana, wanting to go everywhere with her, so Diana came up with a plan.
Issyl now waits quietly at Diana’s feet every morning until it’s time for their walk.
Wombats often dislike humans, but Issyl found that she was calm and willing to accept Diana’s assistance when she arrived at the sanctuary.
Issyl probably likes the carrier because it makes her think of how cozy her mother was.
The young wombat will spend the remainder of her life at the refuge, so she never needs to worry about being by herself again.
She is overjoyed to finally have a place to call home and a comfortable carrier.
