Diana, a 60-year-old housekeeper, spent an entire day searching for the perfect suit for her son, Arnold. He was getting married, and she wanted him to look stylish and happy. She spent all her savings on the suit, not caring about the cost—only that Arnold would be proud of her.
«Son, look what I got you!» she said, entering the house with the suit in her hands. But Arnold only looked at it with disdain.

«Seriously? I can’t wear this to my wedding! I’m marrying into a rich family—I need to look much better. This looks cheap,» he scoffed.
Diana’s heart sank. She hid her disappointment, but his words wounded her deeply. Things got worse when Arnold told her not to come to the wedding.
«Don’t come. Only rich people will be there. You’ll ruin my day,» he said coldly.

Diana locked herself in her room, heartbroken. But despite the pain, she made a decision—she wouldn’t miss this day.
On the wedding day, she arrived with a special gift: an old ceramic vase, a keepsake from her late best friend, who had asked her to give it to Arnold on his wedding day.
As the ceremony ended, Diana approached Arnold with the gift. He opened the box and frowned. A simple vase? But then, she took the microphone.

«Twenty-five years ago, before my best friend passed away,» she began, holding back tears, «she gave me this vase and asked me to give it to you. It was a gift from her parents.»
«I took in her son and raised him as my own. I devoted my life to you,» she continued.
«Now, you’ll see what’s inside this vase. To your happiness!» she toasted.
Arnold opened it—and gasped. Inside was a hidden stash of money. Tears filled his eyes.

Kneeling before her, he whispered, «Mom, I’m sorry. Your love means everything to me.»
Diana smiled. «You don’t need to apologize. I always knew you’d understand.»
At that moment, Arnold realized true wealth wasn’t money—it was the love his mother had given him all his life.
