Moving into a shelter is undoubtedly a step up for the vast majority of animals who previously lived on the streets or were left by negligent owners.
Unfortunately, adoption doesn’t often happen immediately away from these animals in shelters.
These animals find it very challenging to trust people again because of their backgrounds.
Their chances of locating a new residence have thus decreased even further.
Thankfully, there are still lots of people who want to assist these unfortunate individuals.
And this Pittsburgh woman is the ideal illustration. The woman made the decision to visit a nearby shelter to read for the older dogs there in order to let them know they weren’t alone.
The tender scene was recorded on video by a volunteer at a shelter in Virginia, and the touching images were posted online.
She likewise encouraged others to donate their time to helping these animals.
Volunteers are constantly needed, she writes. Anything from strolling the dog to petting the cat to rescuing the bunnies is possible!
Due to work, I don’t get to go there as frequently as I would like, but when I do, it brightens my day immensely.
