A few years ago, she was called the heaviest woman in the world, weighing almost 320 kg. π² She constantly ate because her ex-husband loved plus-sized women. π’ But in recent years, she lost a tremendous amount of weight and became unrecognizable. π² Here’s how she looks today β¬οΈβ¬οΈ
In 2012, when Pauline Potter was named the heaviest woman in the world by the Guinness World Records, she weighed as much as an adult female polar bear. Pauline became widely known in 2011 after setting the Guinness record for the heaviest woman at over 700 pounds (320 kg).
At that time, her weight was important to her and her ex-husband, Alex. In an interview, Pauline explained that Alex liked full-figured women and enjoyed feeding her: «He would cook spaghetti and French bread for me. Heβd bring home pudding and feed it to me. It was his way of showing love.»
When Pauline found out that Guinness had named her the βheaviest woman in the world,β she was shocked. Things got worse when her seemingly loving husband left her, leaving her to rely on their 17-year-old son, Dillon.
Pauline, who could only eat and clean herself, depended on Dillon for practically everything, including moving around and doing housework. Health problems and a desire for independence drove Pauline to seek help.
Despite the challenges, including sticking to a strict 1,200-calorie diet, her persistence began to pay off. She lost 44 pounds, which led doctors to approve her for weight-loss surgery. Pauline took control of her health, and after several years, she lost 500 pounds. After skin-removal surgery, she reached her lowest weight. Recently, Pauline shared a post on Instagram, her first in a long time:
βIβm proud to say that now my weight is 223 pounds. Itβs an incredible feeling not to depend on anyone for even the smallest tasks,β she wrote, showing off her new figure.
