We’ve all heard of blind dogs guiding blind people, but who guides blind dogs? A blind dog, on the other hand, has a unique companion to show him the way: his ‘seeing cat.’
Blue turned blind in 2020, and his unexpected loss of sight had a negative impact on his health:
But he had a particular friend to help him adjust: Sally, the owner’s beloved cat.
The two animals didn’t always get along: the owner said her dog frequently occupied the cat’s space and occasionally walked on her — an issue that only grew worse as Blue’s vision deteriorated.
Blue’s blindness, however, resulted in the two animals developing a stronger kinship.
While Sally appeared to be trying not to be walked on, the habit stayed, and she is now Blue’s ‘guide cat.’
The unusual friendship has brought the two animals closer than ever before.
It comforted Blue to still hear his friend’s voice after losing his sight caused a lot of concern.
‘Although she isn’t the most friendly and cuddly cat among us, she definitely tells Blue that she loves him, which is the most lovely thing to behold.’
