They arrived at the shelter to adopt a kitten, and the manager showed them three kittens that had recently been brought in from the suburbs.
Arthur, Heracles, and Apolo were the kittens’ names.
Emma went for a carrier for them after the couple stated they were definitely taking Arthur, and then placed it on the floor with a blanket.
They said they were driving home and Arthur was purring really loudly in the carrier.
However, when the couple got home and opened the carrier with Arthur, they were astonished to discover a ‘free rider’ inside! It was Heracles the kitten, and Arthur was curled up next to him, embracing and purring loudly.
Heracles, according to Emma, stepped into the carrier as she was carrying Arthur.
Then, due to the dim lighting in the room and his dark clothing, neither Emma nor his wife spotted him in the carrier.
Emma was getting ready to see them in the morning when they abruptly called to say they had changed their minds.
Apolo, the kitten who remained at the shelter, was adopted by a different family.
