Even small updates bring joy, or at the very least, a boost in mood. But when you do them yourself, there’s also the deep satisfaction of the work completed. One woman shared her experience of transforming her outdated kitchen for just $19.
What could be better for creative experiments than old furniture? Only old furniture you’re tired of! The woman explained that the kitchen had been bought temporarily and was very inexpensive. But, as the saying goes, nothing is more permanent than the temporary… The house was still under construction, and buying a new kitchen set was far off.
We all know how much time women spend cooking for their families, and how important it is to feel comfortable while doing it.
After falling ill, the owner of the old furniture realized she needed to make some changes fast. A few YouTube tutorials, creative enthusiasm, and a desire for change resulted in this wonderful transformation:
She spent a couple of hours refreshing the furniture, mentioning that she wasn’t particularly skilled with a brush or paint.
Overall, the painting cost her just $19. This amount covered the price of a paint roller, a brush, two cans of acrylic paint (one of which was nearly full), a spray can of gold paint for the hardware, and a can of varnish.
Additionally, she decided to expand the kitchen set by adding three second-hand upper cabinets bought from an online site, but they were included in the cost.
The kitchen owner has no regrets about her experiment. She was prepared for the possibility that if things didn’t go as planned, she would have to buy a new kitchen sooner. But since the result turned out quite well, she’s already thinking about other ways to upgrade the space.
