This generous woman acquired an odd puppy that was born with a palate. As a result of this trait, the puppy had serious respiratory difficulties and passed shortly after. The woman couldn’t forgive herself and felt she hadn’t done enough to help him get better.
Gracie, a little dog with the same congenital disability as the dog, arrived in the woman’s life ten years later. The woman was concerned about her dog’s health, but after contacting with a veterinarian, she found that medicine has made significant progress in this area, and dogs with lips now have a good chance of survival.
It was revealed that doing reconstructive surgery on a puppy during its first few months of life can help to avert a variety of future health issues.
In order to avoid a repeat of the tragedy, the lady had her new pet saved, and she then decided to make aiding animals her life’s work – in memory of the dog that had passed.
