An action on the side of the road got the interest of an NYP Officer named Andre LaVote last week as he was traveling down a busy road.
Two little squirrels were in need of assistance when the man reached over, got out of the car, and stopped.
Andre was unable to leave the young because they were all by themselves.
And it is preferable to return them as soon as possible in such circumstances.
Andre carefully picked up the animals in his arms and headed in the direction of where they belonged.
In one of the trees growing next to the road, the police officer discovered a nest of squirrels.
In an effort to help their mother locate them, the man tried to place the squirrels in the nest.
But they were obstinately unwilling to leave their rescuer. For a while, Andre let the youngsters play in his arms.
He placed them in the nest and then left when they went to sleep.
The same day, hundreds of social media users who saw pictures of Andre and young squirrels on the NYSP’s official account made note of the policeman’s sensitivity and kindness in addition to his coworkers.
