Beatrice Kommor has had a peculiar yet lovely dream her entire life: she wants to carry a penguin in her arms.
The Holiday Village personnel made the decision to fulfill Beatrice’s dream and match her up with Pingu on her 103rd birthday.
To deliver a special guest immediately to the woman’s birthday, the staff and representatives of the neighborhood aquarium came to an agreement.
Pingu was transported in a unique tank to keep him secure and at ease while traveling.
Beatrice was delighted, as did all of her guests, when the penguin showed up at the celebration.
But everyone was even more surprised when aquarium staff offered the leading lady to handle a black and white feathered chap they had taken out of the aquarium.
She joyfully embraced the penguin and started lovingly petting his sides and back. Beatrice remarked, ‘I never imagined this would truly occur.
On this momentous day, Beatrice was joined by her cherished daughter and granddaughter in addition to friends and nursing home staff.
