A nonprofit organization transports animals from animal shelters across the nation to help them find new owners.
Nearly 2,500 pets have been rescued with their help. The majority of the dogs were discovered in the Los Angeles region as strays.
All of them have foster families or permanent homes waiting for them in California.
The group states that elderly dogs have a difficult time finding homes once they reach the age of 7.
Their adoption rate, which is far lower than that of shelter puppies, is only 25%.
