Many locals simply gave their animals away in the hopes that they could find food for themselves. Packs of stray dogs then started to reappear all over the island as a result.

He was moved by the sight of stray dogs and made the decision to do something. The animals were being fed by him and his pals.
In a 35-kilometer-long olive grove, they planned, constructed, and built a shelter for them that they named ‘Takkis Shelter.’
The animals feel relaxed and comfortable here. The man left a comfortable position as a dentist in order to pursue his business, which was inspired by his spirit.
But so far only his friends help him in this noble cause. Hopefully, many people will learn from this and will start acting so.
