Some dogs at shelters must wait a very long time to be adopted.
As they are passed repeatedly, it might be sad for them to see all the other animals return to their families. So picture yourself as the very last animal in the shelter.
A dog that was left and nearly lost hope experienced this, but he eventually found his own happy ending. Butter waited at the shelter for years. He had been adopted at one point, but the family returned him to the shelter a year later.
Butter’s luck didn’t get much better after that. Others who expressed curiosity never showed up as people continued to walk by him.
Butter was eight years old when the year 2020 began, and he still had no suitors.
However, the shelter persisted and stepped up its efforts to place him.
They shared the dog’s story on Facebook in the hopes that someone would be moved to adopt him.
Surprisingly, the intended audience saw the message.
It was evident that Butter was eager to return home after all this time when they first met at the shelter and clicked right away.
