Michael enjoys viewing wildlife. He had nothing against a crow family that decided to make their home in his backyard.
By the summer, the birds had offspring after building a nest.
The man enjoyed watching the parents spread their wings and rushing back and forth while bringing food to their young to their noisy young.
The man dozed off and was awakened by crows cawing, but he didn’t mind.
He did, however, note that the bird sounds had changed one day. He emerged to discover two fledgling crows in the center of the yard.
Michael brought the babies back to their original nest.
He eventually discovered that the birds valued his kindness. He walked outside to feed the crows in the morning; nothing out of the ordinary happened.
But Michael discovered something odd where he had previously thrown food: pull tabs placed on pine twigs.
The man was surprised because he never leaves waste and always sweeps the yard neatly.
He fed the crows and carried on with his day, but the following day the same thing happened.
The branch from yesterday was joined by another one. He finally realized those were gifts.
