Copper, a male rat, was being sold in a pet store alongside other rats.
When Paula Maureen entered the store, she noticed a sign on a cage with rats that read, ‘To feed the snakes.’
Inside the cage were culled creatures that no one had purchased as pets.
The woman did not hesitate to purchase the entire cage of rats from the pet store and bring them home with her.
Then one of the rodents got out of its cage and took a stroll on the sofa.
The woman’s cat named Plum grew fascinated by the rat while it was traveling on the couch.
Plum was rescued from the streets by volunteers a few years ago. Paula rescued her from a shelter.
Plum has most certainly encountered rats in the past. She did not, however, display any animosity when she saw this rat.
She even approached him, sat next to him, and began licking the rat as if it were her child. They are now extremely close friends.
Copper was Paula’s rat’s name. The cat Plum and the rat Copper spend a lot of time together.
