In 2009, Middy the cat vanished. His owner, Shailene, worked hard to be treated like the pet.
She put up posters all throughout the city, went to nearby shelters, and chatted to residents, but her search turned up nothing.
After a number of years, the woman lost all hope that her pet would ever come back.
But a wonderful thing happened last month: Shailene found her cat online, 12 years after he disappeared. She came across a message from a shelter while going through her news page.
Shailene instantly recognized him as her Middy , even though the kitty had changed considerably.
The woman quickly called the shelter, and she and her missing pet were soon reunited.
According to the representatives of the shelter, Middy could reside in two separate homes while he is away.
He nevertheless made it to the city and was rescued by workers at a shelter there. The adventures of Middy are over.
This time, Shailene won’t avert her eyes from him.
Perhaps the cat will quit running away from home in quest of adventure now that he has all he wants. He has all of Shailene and her family’s trust.
