A night parrot that was believed to be extinct is rediscovered for the first time in 101 years

The extraordinary finding was discovered by Australian naturalist and wildlife cameraman Jon K.

He was able to record a rare bird that many ornithologists believed to be extinct.

However, the researcher is not in a rush to broadcast the rare images or bird singing recordings to the globe.

Researcher claims that he is doing this to shield the creature from the attention of people.

This is the sole species of the genus known as the ‘night parrot,’ which was discovered in the second half of the 19th century.

It turns out that no one has seen a night parrot in 101 years. Jon K was the exception.

In 2009, Jon finally succeeded in following a parrot’s way. He once overheard an unusual bird song.

Jon continued to interact with parrots in this fashion for a number of years, but he was unable to view the mysterious birds with his own eyes.

He listened to the now recognizable singing for a while before seeing a bird fly out of its hiding place and sit on the ground not far from people. Cool, right?
