They were not immediately aware that they were in front of a living thing when Humane Society staff members found this dog.
The newborn, named Ellie Mae, was so oversized that the volunteers referred to her as the worst case they had ever seen.
The tiny creature’s thick fur was knotted and extremely dirty, making it difficult for it to move at all.
It was impossible to unwind or comb. The dog, who was about 11 years old, was left all by herself in the house after her owner passed.
Elie Mae wasn’t initially spotted there, for reasons that are unknown, and wasn’t taken away until she had the appearance of an old fur coat.
The infant could then be calmly cared for, and the vets could then get to work.
Thankfully, this was unnecessary, and the dog was okay. Doctors acknowledge that they deal with this occurrence virtually daily.
It’s true that Elie Mae ‘surpassed’ every client who had attended the clinic!
The infant will be placed in capable hands once everything is done.
