Fortunately, there were compassionate individuals willing to assist. A little terrier with backwards paws was born.
It wasn’t caused by a fracture or an injury. That’s how the puppy was born. His skilled surgeon believes the issues began while the dog was still in the womb — or shortly after delivery.
The elbows had just sprung out of their frail joints and rotated, forcing the paws upward. When she brought him to the dog shelter, he was just 13 weeks old.
She was a typical puppy, just like any other puppy her age. Except for her twisted paws, she was fully healthy, enjoyed playing, and wagged her tail.
And the fact that he couldn’t move normally because of them: she had to move on her hands and knees, resting on her wrists. Of course, this had an impact on her quality of life. And the shelter made the decision to help the puppy no matter what.
The dog had to get used to his new paws. Re-learn how to walk in a practical way. She was taken under the wing of a young doctor.
The dog was improving and becoming more powerful. Now that the dog has grown up, she is fully content and leads a normal life, running and playing with her buddies as a puppy should.
